The 1200-hp Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse.Posted in cars on February 25th, 2012 by adminBugatti Automobiles S.A.S. is set to unveil the most powerful roadster of all time at the 82nd International Geneva Motor Show at the beginning of March 2012. With an increase in power up to 1,200 HP, the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse has entered a new dimension of open-top driving. Optically aligned to the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, which holds the current world speed record of 431 km/h (268 mph), the Vitesse also impresses with its dynamic driving characteristics. Bugatti’s engineers have developed the current Grand Sport, with its 1,001 HP and 1,250 Nm, into an even more powerful vehicle. The Vitesse’s maximum torque is now an impressive 1,500 Nm. The increased power of the new roadster’s 16-cylinder engine is made possible by the four enlarged turbochargers and intercoolers. The chassis has also been modified to support the power increase. The Vitesse therefore also ensures the supreme range of excellent features one would expect of a Bugatti super sports car, from precise driving dynamics to extraordinary acceleration and braking. The Low Flying Pelican will finally have its day in court.Posted in cars on December 3rd, 2011 by adminAs you may recall, back in November 2009, an unfortunate incident rocked the automotive interweb when Andy House accidently drove 1 of only 300 ever made Bugatti Veyrons into Galveston Bay and proved once again – just about everything is now captured on video – not matter what. Andy has claimed that he was casually driving down the road when a low flying pelican swooped in front of him. Being the nice guy that he is, he opted to tank his $1 million + dollar Veyron in the saltwater of Galveston Bay rather than run the risk of hurting a bird that would be just as happy eating a tar covered fish as it would be leaving a huge white mess on a car. ![]() photo via: Chris Paschenko Well as it turns out, after Andy’s insurance company closely reviewed a YouTube video (that has been viewed over 3 million times & posted below) shot by a lucky bystander (who will infamously be known as the guy who did not know the difference between a Bugatti Veyron and a “Lambo”), there appears to be no low flying pelican swooping in front of Andy’s Veyron just before it veered to the right and into the water. This being the case, Andy’s insurance company, Philadelphia Indemnity, has sued Andy for insurance fraud. It has been reported that Andy borrowed nearly $1 million dollars from a buddy of his to purchase the Veyron, then insured it for $2 million Bucks – not long after that is when he attempted to recreate a scene from Speed Zone while dodging a low flying pelican. Despite requests from both sides of this tragic event for the case to be thrown out, Judge John R. Froeschner has said this thing is going to trial. No trial date has been set, but we will keep you posted. In Andy’s defense: We visited the scene of the crime one day after it occurred and only a couple hundred yards prior to where the tracks lead into the water, there were posted signs warning of low flying pelicans. Now, did a low flying pelican really cause the incident – we will leave that up to the judicial system.

Mandalay Bay Convention Center, September 22-24, 2011 will be the place to be, if you are a car nut. The 4th Annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction returns to the Mandalay Bay Convention Center on Thursday, September 22 and comes to a close on Saturday the 24th. The Barrett-Jackson is still the premier place to buy and sell a car (or truck, or bus, or airplane or boat), but over the years it has evolved into an event dedicated to all things automotive and one of the best car shows we have ever been to. 2011 is Barrett-Jackson’s 40th anniversary, and the Las Vegas event caps off a yearlong celebration that started in Scottsdale, AZ in January. To close out the year, Barrett-Jackson will auction off, at no reserve, the first Mosler Automotive Raptor GTR. The Raptor GTR, which is made of carbon fiber and Kevlar, only weighs 2,350 pounds, is powered by a 1,200 horsepower engine and has a rumored top speed of 300+ mph – so Yes, this will out gun the Bugatti Veyron.
