Recently, Buick has decided to expand its Verano line of compact sedans with turbocharged model. Verano Turbo is considered amongst the heavy duty service providing sedans, as the engine power is quite impeccable. The 2.0 liter engine makes 260 foot-pounds of torque at 2,000 RPM and credited with the ability to generate 250 HP at 5300 RPM. Such compact composition or specification of this sedan has lifted it up to the list of smashing sedans that are highly sold in the year of 2012. Read more »

Buick LaCrosse – Best For Safe Urban Driving
Buick LaCrosse is considered as the best vehicle for driving in urban areas. The new Buick La Crosse has been modified to give maximum comfort to driver and passengers. The designers of the new model have lavished much care making the vehicle easy to handle on tight urban roads full of parking on both sides. It comes dressed in highly premium and soft material in surroundings of the front and rear seats. There is greater legroom in the rear than other similar models like the Infiniti G37 Sedans, Lexus ES 350 and the Acura TL. Read more »

In China, Buick has positioned itself as a brand of power, prestige and luxury. In America, Buick has become a brand of naps, early bird specials and retirement homes. Buick has discovered that a positive brand image, as they have in China, results in strong sales numbers. So taking what they have learned over there, Buick is working to improve its image, over here, in America. With the introduction of the redesigned Regal in 2011, which is basically a rebadged Opel Insignia, Buick took a big step toward shaking off their land yacht image.
Almost as soon as the new Regal was introduced, rumors began to float that a high-performance version was on its way. Last year we drove the 2011 Regal Turbo CXL and hoped that was not it – we hoped that was not the rumored high-performance version, because high-performance, it was not. We continued to hold hope for a Regal that would pay homage to the Grand National or even the legendary GNX.
When Buick announced the 2012 Regal GS, showed pictures of what it would look like and announced a six speed manual transmission would be standard equipment, we thought this could be it. This could be the high-performance Regal we were hoping for.
Now to find out if Buick has done it.

Another North American International Auto Show has passed. A car has set itself on fire on the show stand. An increasingly irrelevant automaker tried to prove that it is still relevant while other’s lived in the white noise press flutter during Detroit’s big day in January.
The true concept cars of NAIAS this year were at a level of mediocrity reserved for the US Lawn Bowling Championship and the Canadian Football League. It was the production ready cars that really shined.

Our quarterly poker tournament had just consolidated down to two tables. Most players who were still in had bought additional chips at the break – I had not and felt good about making it this long. I needed to earn a lot of chips before the blinds were increased again for a chance to grind my way to the final table for a shot at the payout. I was dealt 7-7 and came out betting, most players folded, but two called – the flop came 2-3-5. I checked, the next guy checked and the 3rd raised. I re-raised, the next guy called and the 3rd guy folded. A king came on the turn, we both checked, then a 7 came on the river – jackpot! I bet big, the other player raised and I raised all-in – he called. I confidently showed my triple 7’s, he showed his 6-4 – and with that, I was out of the tournament.
Because we were at a poker tournament, everyone was in the mood to gamble. A long story short: a bet was made and the odds were stacked against us – we had to make it to a casino, in Louisiana, in under a certain amount of time.
